Real pirates get their new crew members at the local Inn
Publisher NGames reveals the innovative random card mini-game powering NPC crew
recruitment in pirate inspired MMORPG, Pockie Pirates.
Currently in open beta, Pockie Pirates casts players as a young pirate who
dreams of becoming the ultimate King of the Pirates and obtaining the greatest
treasure of the sea. Featuring an exciting blend of strategy, tactics and an
entertaining game plot, the game packs cute characters and quality-designed
backgrounds, combined with dazzling skills to present players with a thrilling
and epic adventure around the sea.
Players can build and manage unique crews of NPC's to operate and fight on their
vessels. These pirates are recruited via the in-game "Blue Bars" - a unique
mini-game system that uses an exciting random card generator. The Blue Bars
offer new recrutment opportunities every time they are entered, and they level
with players to ensure that no two crews will ever be exactly the same.
There are four bars to visit when it comes to recruiting new crew members. The
North, South, East and West "Blue Bars", each packed with willing NPC's
desperate for a slice of the treasure hunting action.
There are 3 kinds of recruitment: Convene, Advanced Convene and Super Convene.
Upon entering the bar, players are presented with a screen of character faces on
a set of cards, which are then flipped, shuffled and narrowed down to 5 possible
candidates. Players must click a card and decide whether or not their chosen
crew member will add value to their crew.
When a new member is chosen, players can start over to recruit again.
A ship is only successful when a crew is able to work in harmony. Great pirates
need to recruit wisely and ensure their members will compliment each other out
in the ocean. Nothing spells disaster quicker than hastey recruitment.
