EVE's Alliance Tournament X begins this weekend, the 10th version of the greatest e-sports competition in gaming where player Alliances put their own ships and modules on the line and practice for months in as much secrecy as they can muster. A single shared universe ups the ante in a way not seen by other gaming tournaments, where the victors' prizes are magnified with gained fame and defeats not only carry a heavy price in material loss but also in pride. The rich history of the tournament suggests inevitable drama and deal brokering behind the scenes.
